Go on, shed that skin!

As the Chinese New Year of the SNAKE arrives, perhaps this is as good a time as any to consider a Change of Habit for 2025.

Elvis would have been 90 on the 8th January….. so, it’s Las Vegas here I come, this May, as I celebrate my 20th year as part of the adidas family! Once these 3 stripes are embedded into your psyche, they run through your veins for life!!

Here are 10 x 2-minute HABITS for you to practise and introduce into your daily regime, guaranteed to BOOST your self-confidence!!

 

  1. Stand tall and adjust your posture – remember, slouching only makes you feel weak
  2. Smile, even if you don’t want to – by fooling your subconscious, you’ll eventually want to!
  3. Use a power pose – enhance your Wonder Woman or Superman stance!
  4. Speak affirmations out loud – to rewire your brain
  5. Plan one achievable goal for the day – make it SMART and KISS
  6. Practise deep breathing – to attain an altered state of consciousness
  7. Recall a recent success – focusing on mistakes is all too easy!
  8. Compliment yourself – we’re too quick to criticise and praise nowhere near enough
  9. Wear something that makes you feel amazing – power dressing really works!
  10. Engage in a quick gratitude practice – it’s the most powerful weapon in your arsenal (or gear in your kitbag, if you prefer to fight less and play more!) List 3 things you’re grateful for in 2 minutes.

Thinking only of what you want doesn’t help you to strive for more – it just highlights what’s currently missing in your life and can leave you demotivated, in a state of simply feeling more want.

However, when you feel grateful for what you already have, you’re thanking LIFE for what it has given you so far. TRUST the process of appreciating more and you start to feel confident about who you are and where you’re going.

As Elvis says, “changes are a-coming, for these are changing days…. and if your head is in the sand, while things are goin’ on…. what you need is a Change of Habit.” Wise words, indeed.

Set in your old ways?? Well, now, you can re-set your mindset for the entire day, people, perhaps even your whole life. Happy New Year of the SNAKE, y’all!!
