Strength

We don’t always have to be strong to be strong.

Sometimes, our strength can be expressed in our being completely vulnerable.

Sometimes, we just need to fall apart to simply regroup and stay on track.

We all have days when we can’t push any harder, can’t hold back the self-doubt, can’t stop focusing on fear, can’t be strong anymore……and these are the days when we find that we can’t focus anymore on being the one who’s always responsible for everything  – the days when all we want to do is stay in our pyjamas and cry like a baby.

We expose our tiredness, our irritability and our anger to all those around us……and these days are ok, too..…..they are just ok.

Part of taking care of ourselves means giving ourselves permission to fall apart when we need to. We don’t have to be the perpetual tower of strength for everybody. We know that we are strong: we have already proven that, and our strength will continue if we allow ourselves the courage to feel scared, weak, confused, or whatever, whenever we need to experience these feelings.
