Soothe your Senses

TOUCH

  • Take a warm bubble bath
  • Make time for a massage
  • Cuddle your pet
  • Feel the sun’s rays on your face
  • Put on clothing that has a soft, luxurious feel to it

 

 

TASTE

  • Sip a cup of something hot: tea, cocoa, coffee, whatever, as long as it’s hot  
  • Eat an ice cream, drink something cold or chew on an ice lolly on a hot day
  • Eat your favourite comfort food
  • Have a small piece of chocolate to release some feel-good chemicals
  • Savour some fresh fruit, tropical or otherwise

 

 

 

SMELL

  • Go to your local florist, deli, baker or perfumery and breathe it all in  
  • Burn incense or light a scented candle
  • Focus on your breath and take in the fresh air, deeply
  • Hold some fresh coffee beans to your nose and inhale the aroma
  • Bake a cake or a make a fruit crumble

 

 

 

SIGHT

  • Look at pictures of your loved ones or your favourite holiday spot 
  • Go to the beach and watch the waves hit the sand
  • Watch the sun go down
  • See the clouds drifting in the sky
  • Notice your pet sleeping or your children at play

 

 

 

SOUND

  • Listen to relaxing music 
  • Take a walk and listen to the birds
  • Hear the sound of children playing
  • Sit outside at dusk and notice any noise
  • Rest quietly in your room and wait for whatever you hear
